A
LUNCHTIME REUNION IN TAUNTON
Guests
came from far and wide including one old boy, Mike Sinclair, who
made the journey from Nova Scotia! This was an epic occasion ,
most people having been out of touch for several decades and the
big question was "Would we recognise each other from those early
days?"
Life
after Winbury meant for many of us dispersal to schools in other
towns around the country, then for some University before taking
up employment. In researching the whereabouts of Old Winburians
it came to light that during the 1950s quite a band of boys went
on to Magdalen College School in Oxford. It also came to my notice
that some of them lived in the South West , not far from where
I live in Taunton. A mini Reunion was called for!
So
it was that on 14th September (2012) that Mark Randle, Michael
Clark, Michael Vooght and I met at The Wine and Sausage Restaurant
in Taunton and David Harrold travelled all the way from Cookham
to join us. Anthony Bernard , who lives in Exmouth would also
have joined us but for a work commitment.
A
very enjoyable time was had by all with much reminiscing about
Winbury and Magdalen.
